Case Studies / Salamoff Design Studio

Branding and Image Management, Expert Positioning, Media Relations, Press Materials

The Challenge

After 15 years of experience as an interior designer working for large commercial architectural firms, Melissa Salamoff decided to branch out and start her own interior design business, Salamoff Design Studio. Knowing that it would take more than an impressive resume to launch her new business, Melissa Salamoff sought the expertise of Barbara Pressman Public Relations to garner media attention and to help make critical branding, marketing, and web content decisions.

The Approach

With only two completed small, residential projects at the start of the campaign, and several institutional projects a long way from completion, BPPR drew upon Melissa Salamoff’s prior experience to position her as an expert source in the interior design field. BPPR also guided Salamoff through the design process for her website, advising her on company branding, content, graphics and photography.

The Results

BPPR has secured extensive national coverage for Melissa Salamoff, including commentary on an array of home design topics in Alaska Airlines inflight magazine, Woman’s Day, on HGTV.com and Univision.com, as well as feature stories on projects in Kitchen Trends, Kitchen and Bath Ideas and Distinctve Kitchen Solutions. As Melissa Salamoff’s commercial and institutional projects near completion, BPPR is creating a list of story angles and targeted publications to garner additional media coverage for commercial sector work.
